Azerbaijan demanded to oblige termination of hate speech in Armenia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan shared a note, according to which Azerbaijan filed a claim against the Republic of Armenia to the International Court of Justice based on the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

“Particularly, the claim was filed on Armenia being responsible for the ethnic cleansing, including deliberate life- and property-harm, humiliation, destruction of the cultural heritage, promoting hate speech towards Azerbaijanis among Armenian society and supporting military groups led by hate speech”.

“In the claim of Azerbaijan, the importance of declaring information on the missing person of Azerbaijan in Armenia, returning the stolen property and lands of Azerbaijanis, forcing to terminate hate speech and bringing to responsibility for the 30 years of humiliation of human rights was emphasized”.

As a reminder, Armenia has filed a claim to the International Court of Justice based on the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination against Azerbaijan within the frames of the Committee’s proceeding. The court scheduled a hearing on 30th January 2023.
